I’ll share with you a simple recipe you try at home.

INGREDIENTS

  • Watermelon
  • Watermelon rind
  • Oranges
  • Sugar
  • Water

PROCESS

Dice watermelon, rind, and oranges.

Put in a blender.

Blend till fine.

Drain using a fine seive.

Add sugar.

I boiled it for 5 minutes then refrigerated (optional).

Voila!

TIGER NUT MILK MANGO SMOOTHIE

Hello!

I have a lot of smoothie recipes to share with you.

I’ll share this recently made one with and share the rest later.

Ingredients

  • Tiger nuts (dried or fresh)
  • Sweet mangoes
  • Milk (optional)
  • Sugar (optional)
  • Water

PROCEDURE

If the tigernuts are fresh, you go straight into making this drink. However, if it is dried you may want to fist soak it for at least 4 to 5 hours before blending.

Place tigernuts in blender, blend until smooth.

Place in a sieve and drain out the juice using enough water.

Use the tiger nut milk as the liquid, put back in blender then add diced mangoes.

Put milk and sugar (optional for those not using diary or sugar).

Then until smooth.

Voila…

Ready to drink.

N.B You can refrigerate mangoes prior to give a thicker consistency or refrigerate drink after making it. As you desire.

MOI MOI combo O.R.A’s way

It’s been like forever but I promise that I have so many things to share here.

I will try to share gradually.

I will be sharing this recipe with a touch of my own uniqueness…

ABOUT

Moi Moi is baked ground beans. It is of Nigerian origin.

It is made by first cleaning the beans, removing the skin after rigorous cleaning then adding spicy condiments, fish then seasoning. Afterwards, boiling for about hour.

It is eaten with any cereal, bread, cooked gruels.

N.B The opportunity of powder beans flour is also used which is what I am using.

INGREDIENTS

  • Beans powder
  • Salt
  • Seasoning cubes
  • Crayfish
  • Dried fish
  • Tomato paste/fresh tomatoes
  • Curry powder and Thyme
  • Soy sauce
  • Boiled Eggs
  • Vegetable oils
  • Sweet Potatoes

PROCESS

Add ingredients: beans powder, diced sweet potatoes, salt, seasoning cube, soy sauce, crayfish, smoked and dried fish, curry and thyme.

N.B grounded onion and garlic would be great. I used the powder form.

Then the tomato paste/fresh blended tomatoes (this will regulate the amount of water you will put)

Afterwards add water and mix properly until it is has a sticky form. It shouldn’t be watery and shouldn’t be thick for a better cooked outcome.

It should look like this:

Boiled eggs have been added to the mixture.

You may add vegetable oil when mixing or afterwards. The vegetable oild helps the bean cake easy to be removed after cooking.

Then cook for 1 hour.

It should come out looking like this:

Final serving:

I ate mine with slices of bread. Other popular ways it is eaten is by using pap, oats, garri or with rice, spaghetti.

I enjoyed this bowl of deliciousness.

Today I will be sharing with you my first video. This recipe is super yummy with an extra drink recipe.

I subtitle it: The Igbo girl’s way of making soupy noodles.

Also, it is an ASMR translated as Autonomous Sensory Median Response and consists of focusing on specific surrounding sounds with interrupting the flow. So in this video, you hear more of utensils clanging softly, water bubbling, nylon bags opening and ingredients crunching.

Agbalumo/Udara/ African Cherry

Happy New Year!

Today, I’ll share on a fruit that is well known in Nigerian and has a fondness built around it.

It is called Agbalumo in Yoruba and Udara in Igbo.

It is currently the fruit in season in my location and as a lover of it, I try to buy it whenever I am opportune to.

It has a unique flavour that could be either sour sweet, sour, or very sweet depending on how ripe it is.

An interesting property it has is that you can use it to make chewing gum. This is mainly associated with the sour ones which are not fully ripe. After eating the fleshy part of the fruit, it turns to gum on chewing it more consistently.

This fruit is rich in Vitamin C and Calcium. It has laxative properties and its back which is high in fiber is good for bowel movement.

I would have loved to try making a juice out of it but I forgot. It will certainly have a rich pulp on blending, with a similar flavour as tamarind in terms of its biting flavour.

In summary, this fruit is good for you but should not be eaten in excess to avoid over stimulation of the bowel.

Monster Balls

Hello and welcome after many weeks.

I am sorry for not sharing with you and for being inconsistent on this blog.

I have had this recipe for four months probably and I have not been able to share.

It is a simple recipe mainly for fun and if you are vegan, this will work well for you.

N.B This is my recipe and is shared for your enjoyment. Do not sell it.

Ingredients

  • Whole purpose flour
  • Rough wheat flour
  • Curry powder
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Seasoning cubes
  • Dried leaves
  • Palm oil
  • Baking butter
  • Groundnut oil
  • Baking powder (optional)
  • Water

Procedure

Mix the two types of flour.

Add dry ingredients such as baking powder, salt, pepper, curry powder and seasoning cubes according to taste.

Add butter and palm oil and mix.

Then add water and make sure the consistency remains firm. If it gets sticky add flour to compensate.

Then add dried leaves to the mixture.

Set your oven to medium.

Carefree your mode of picking up individuals lumps. It is called monster balls because of the safe. No need to smoothen it.

If you have a baking sheet, then great!

After completing your desired number.

Put it in the oven and allow to bake for atleast one hour.

Voila!

Ready to serve.

Strawbanapp Oreo Snack 🍨

It’s been so long since I posted. I have had recipes to share but I have dragged my feet too long.

Today, I will share a yummy snack you can make at home.

I enjoyed it so much plus it is a healthy yummy pack.

The name though 😂😂

Ingredients

Bananas

Iced Strawberries

Apples

Powder Milk

Sugar

Oreo biscuits

Procedure

Dice bananas and apples and set aside.

Peel off cream from oreo biscuits and then mash the biscuits.

Put strawberries and sugar in a bowl and mash together.

Add milk.

Mix until a nice paste is formed.

Add apples, bananas and oreo crumbs and mix together.

N.B If you wish, you can the oreo cream when you are mixing the strawberry and milk or simply leave it from the mixture.

Add final result in a bowl, cover and put in the refrigerator.

Depending on how fast your deep freezer works, it should be iced in few hours.

Scoop and enjoy 🤤😋

Welcome here after an extremely long time.

Today, I will be sharing quick food inspos.

I hope you find them helpful.

Breakfast

This bowl of wheat bran flake cereal infused with sweet raisins and sweetened liquid milk is a great option.

The flakes do not get soggy easily and it is quite crunchy.

Importantly, it is very good for bowel movements.

I enjoyed this so much even though I did not necessarily take it as breakfast 😁

Brunch

This bowl contains Bananas, apples, digestive biscuits and sweetened liquid milk.

This a yummy bowl of healthy meal.

Dinner

Finishing off with a bowl of spicy chicken soup.

With enough spices to refresh the body after a long stressful day. This plate of chicken soup does more than satisfy your taste buds.

Making Caramel Popcorn at home

Its been a while.

The recipes that have been made over previous months would be shared gradually..

Until then, lets check this easy popcorn recipe.

This recipe is not completely different from others you may have read on the internet but I decided to make something very common you can check on incase you are having a hard time getting a recipe🙈

Popcorn is high in fiber and thus good for your digestive system. If prepared in a healthy manner, should cause less concerns about its health hazards.

On a lighter note if you are watching your weight, popcorn can also help because it makes you eat less and feel full.

However, I will not recommend eating it too much or too regulary because it can reduce your intake of healthier meals due to its ability to make you feel satiated easily.

Ingredients

Popcorn corn🙈 (quality is very important in getting a nice result)

Vegetable oil

Sugar (to get our caramel glaze😋)

I lobe this brand soo much. They make my favourite spices as well❤

Procedure

Get a dry deep pot.

Add vegetable oil to it (approximately a table spoon. We are not deep frying😂)

Set to moderate heat (this will help in regulation)

Add one popcorn.

Wait until it pops.

Add the rest.

Cover the pot.

Open slightly to add sugar (sugar quantity according to preference)

Shake pot side to side to allow the sugar go over the popping corns.

Keep shaking pot as you hear the corns pop.

When you no longer hear popping sounds, stop and open to check.

If all are popped, holla!

Ready to munch.
