I have a lot of smoothie recipes to share with you.
I’ll share this recently made one with and share the rest later.
Ingredients
Tiger nuts (dried or fresh)
Sweet mangoes
Milk (optional)
Sugar (optional)
Water
PROCEDURE
If the tigernuts are fresh, you go straight into making this drink. However, if it is dried you may want to fist soak it for at least 4 to 5 hours before blending.
Place tigernuts in blender, blend until smooth.
Place in a sieve and drain out the juice using enough water.
Use the tiger nut milk as the liquid, put back in blender then add diced mangoes.
Put milk and sugar (optional for those not using diary or sugar).
Then until smooth.
Voila…
Ready to drink.
N.B You can refrigerate mangoes prior to give a thicker consistency or refrigerate drink after making it. As you desire.
Today I will be sharing with you my first video. This recipe is super yummy with an extra drink recipe.
I subtitle it: The Igbo girl’s way of making soupy noodles.
Also, it is an ASMR translated as Autonomous Sensory Median Response and consists of focusing on specific surrounding sounds with interrupting the flow. So in this video, you hear more of utensils clanging softly, water bubbling, nylon bags opening and ingredients crunching.
After watching, kindly subscribe to my YouTube channel and leave a like as well.
Here we go…..
Enjoy an extra view…..
The milk drink was shared as well and it is a quite a refreshing flavour.
Today, I’ll share on a fruit that is well known in Nigerian and has a fondness built around it.
It is called Agbalumo in Yoruba and Udara in Igbo.
It is currently the fruit in season in my location and as a lover of it, I try to buy it whenever I am opportune to.
It has a unique flavour that could be either sour sweet, sour, or very sweet depending on how ripe it is.
An interesting property it has is that you can use it to make chewing gum. This is mainly associated with the sour ones which are not fully ripe. After eating the fleshy part of the fruit, it turns to gum on chewing it more consistently.
This fruit is rich in Vitamin C and Calcium. It has laxative properties and its back which is high in fiber is good for bowel movement.
I would have loved to try making a juice out of it but I forgot. It will certainly have a rich pulp on blending, with a similar flavour as tamarind in terms of its biting flavour.
In summary, this fruit is good for you but should not be eaten in excess to avoid over stimulation of the bowel.
Today, I will share my thoughts on this and hope to shine brighter lights on it.

Your Body
Everyone has a unique body type. There may be similarities but there are exact body types.
Your body is the fleshy part of you that wears clothes, sensitive to touch and the part of you that can be physically modified.
Your body is also a huge part of you.
Your body can make you feel confident and can make you feel ashamed.
Your body is beautiful but it can be ugly.
You body can be appreciated and it can be shamed.
Body Types
I will not go into anatomy here but there are different body types and they give different appearance to the individual.
Some shapes are triangular, some are circular, oval, rectangular, pear shaped or asymmetrical.
Body type and shape allows affects the future of a clothing and in the shape way affects appearance.
Some people have parts of their bodies that are more prominent than other parts and some do not.
There is a certain desirable body for every gender and those who are unable to match the requirements either suffer body shaming or are ashamed and hate of their bodies.
Do Not Accept Body Shaming
It was when I hit puberty that I first experienced body shaming in the presence of my peers. A teacher was the culprit and my classmates laughed and poked me endlessly for years.
As I observed my body and others, I began to hate some parts of my body. I did not like how they looked and wished to change them badly.
It took years with God’s help to overcome it but it has not stopped some unkind experiences.
As an adult, I have had certain people always remind me of the kind of body I should have and why my body is not as normal as it should be. Some people even always made sure to include it in the conversations with a demeaning undertone.
Then there are those who always have to comment about a change they observe.
In the past, I would keep quiet and let their words bother me but I have learnt to turn their words back at them stating that I am grateful and happy for my body type especially as it does not limit my activity nor is a sign of poor health.
Don’t accept body shaming.
Some people are very unkind and making fun of other people’s bodies makes them feel better about themselves. Their fake concern does not come from a place of care but only aims to make you feel bad about your beautiful body.
Your Body Is Beautiful
Yes, your body is.
You did not make your body. You did not have the choice in choosing how your shape will be.
God made you well.
The proportions and sizes of your body parts are beautiful.
They are unique.
They are fine.
Helping Your Body
Help your body by remaining healthy.
It is not easy but it is possible.
Do not become obsessed but remain informed.
Observe your body and the changes it undergoes and give it proper attention.
Care for your body and don’t harm it.
Do not neglect your body and if something is wrong with your body, treat it.
Exercise intentionally and find ways to enjoy it.
Eat healthy and be intentional about it.
Wear clothes appropriate for your body. Wear comfortable clothes that will not cause you unnecessary discomfort.
Allow your body to breathe.
There are those who undergo surgeries to correct certain defects in their bodies that has been a form of disability.
Be kind to your body and say kind words to it.
Remember: Until you are kind to yourself, you will accept every unkind words said to you.
Priding in unhealthy lifestyle is not kindness to the body. Dismissing sincere concerns about your poor health is not wise.
The BMI was created to help you remain informed and balanced.
If you have health issues that affect your body, please follow your doctor’s advice and necessary medications.
Be Kind to Others
Please if it is your habit to always comment on a person’s body size, shape or appearance, stop it.
If you cannot show sincere concern, just keep shut.
You do not always have to say something about someone’s body.
If you won’t help, keep shut.
If your help is not needed, just keep shut.
Your unkind words affect people deeply.
If you cannot be kind, let the person be.

Today I will share a nice tea to take when the weather is rainy. Super easy to make and super relaxing and healthy too.
One of the ingredients used is honey which is super healthy and a good substitute for sugar. It can be used for different facial, body and hair mask and also used to treat wounds. It is good syrup making cereals and for baking. Importantly as regards this post, it is good in drinks.
Ingredients
Honey
Mint leaves (fresh or room dried)
Ginger (fresh or dry)
Additional: Your extra spice such as cinnamon, cardamon or cloves.
Procedure
Boil mint leaves and ginger in water until hot.
Serve into your preferred cup.
Add a table or two spoons of honey.

Ready to drink 🍸

Imagine taking this at night, early in the morning with chirping birds or when the rain is falling or l after the rain falls….
Today, I will be sharing this quick post plus it is quite personal too.
I talked about something similar in an older post.
Emotions and eating
Food means different things to different people and for some people their emotions control their eating habits.
Actually, there is an obvious link between a good emotional health and proper eating.
When some people are moody, they opt for sugary foods becauae the level of sugar can help them get excited.
Or maybe because sugar can be a comforting friend.
Most of us enjoy sugar when we are moody.
Icecream!
Some people are unable to eat when they are hungry and often endure hunger pangs until they feel better.
While some binge on as much food as they can find because they find comfort in eating.
These different emotional responses to food can be harmful to health in the long run.
The value of Food
The purpose of food is first to take care of the body, any other purpose is secondary including pleasure.
Balancing emotional health with the proper value of food is what people who have emotional imbalances struggle with.
Anorexic patients suffer from an improper mental evaluation of themselves and food so they see food as an enemy rather than a need. Their poor response to food and their body image is often the point of concern.
Once they can see food as a need and not obsess over their body image, then a great step is made towards recovery.
Bulimic patients love food but are afraid of food. It is a paradox relationship where they want to eat as much food as possible but are afraid that food would affect their body image.
Then you have Highly Sensitive People who have specific prefrences that may be hard to come by making them picky and often find it hard to eat when their choice is unavailable.
I have a unique relationship with food. I love good food yet I find it hard to bring myself to eat if I have not mentally accepted the food. This often happens when I have to prepare what to eat.
I could spend hours feeling hungry yet feel frustrated that I could not eat anything available and sometimes I am unable to come up with something to eat.
And sometimes, if I stay too long without eating, I suffer this fate.
Observing this pattern and intentionally seeking ways to mnage it has helped me.
Healthy Food is Medicine
When we feel moody, fruits are not the first food we pick, we instead pick candies.
Or
Healthy food is difficult to eat when we are not in a great place. It is hard to find an appetite for a bowl of healthy food but the good thing is that a healthy meal is what you need whwn you are feeling blue because it has the right viatamins and nutrients your emotional health needs.
Some healthy foods that help my emotional health include:
Bananas
Peanut Butter
Youghurt
Salads and tortilla
Chicken soup
Apples
Digestive biscuits
Junk food only provides temporary relief but a healthy meal provides long term benefits.
The vegetables infused in this meal made it so hearty it changed my mood to a very happy one.
I have not shared the recipe.
There are tons of healthy recipes to try out on this blog.

Curry, Chicken spices and your favourites.
Chicken
Tomatoes
Onions and garlic

To your peanut butter paste, add water enough to give you a lighter thickened paste (meaning you need very little water depending on your preference of consistency in sauce)
